Insulating Washers > TG500 / T-gard 500 Silicone Rubber
TG500 / T-gard 500 Silicone RubberTG500, or T-gard 500, from Laird Tech, is a medium thermal performance transistor insulator pad consisting of a ceramic filled high temperature silicone rubber coated on electrical grade fibreglass.

It is the successor to the old Warth K177 material.

TG500 / T-gard 500 is designed for applications that require additional thickness to prevent electrical shorts from stamped aluminum heatsinks used in switching mode power supplies and debris from aluminum castings used in automotive motor controls.

Laird's TG500 / T-gard 500 is used in applications that require an interface of 2.5ºC/watt or higher on a TO-220 mounted at 50 psi pressure.

Other Laird materials besides TG500 / T-gard 500, with different properties are also available to special order.

Insulators are available with pressure sensitive adhesive which is an assembly aid and does not affect the wide operating range.

MECI can still offer many of the profiles in the old K177 material from Warth Int'l.

TG500 / Tgard 500 Silicone Rubber Transistor Insulators
Standard material for our transistor insulators is the Laird TG500 grade.

Other grades of material are available on request.

Also available to special order are adhesive-backed transistor insulating washers, together with many of the profiles in old K177 material from Warth International.
